Neeswetu Looking good!

December 12th, 2009 by Tim

Hey Everyone,

It’s Timothy Turner the Manager of the Wampanoag Homesite again.  I just wanted to show you all what we have been up to since we closed about two week now.  I will show you in before and after photos of the Neeswetu here go’s.

This is the front of the Neeswetu at the end of the year, we just did not have the time to get the roof done in season so we will have to finish it this winter.   I think you can see large gaps where air and water could get in and just dose not look finished.

Here’s the guys working on the almost finished front of the Neeswetu.  What different in this picture? those gap’s are all sealed up, we did this with bark shingles we made.   The guys now are working on the front porch of the house as you can see in the picture here.  The house is now looking good and all of the cracks are sealed up, we did this with other peaces of bark shoved under the bark to seal the crack up and is now air and water tight.  Nice job Phillip, James, Brain and Darius it’s looking great.  This week coming the  guys are going to work on the beds making the frames and putting down the flat boards we chopped out of logs.  This will finally finish the house off,  it has been a long project and nice to see it come to the end.  I invite you all to come see the house next year when we open.  I will post some more pictures of the house at the end of the blog .
