Another pit-sawing video you say? We feel your pain. But this one is notable for a few reasons:
Number one: It’s been 8 years since our joiner–let’s call him, Le Fourré on account of his beard–has been in the pit. That is itself worthy enough to document. More important, note the way Peter doesn’t miss a beat jumping back into action with ex-pat Stuart, our vacationing itinerant sawyer. The two of them were old sawing buddies a decade ago and the intervening years have done little to dull the whet of their teeth.
B: This video is less than 2 minutes long!
And trois: It’s proof that we are slowly, inexorably, interminably working towards framing The Francis Cooke House. We might be cutting joints in the snow, but we’ll be cutting joints, by gum!

Au revoir to our bagel-bearing, cookie-carrying friend Megan as she journeys westward and homeward. Thanks for all the treats, honorary artisan!
And bienvenue dans le monde, Finny! Artisan Justin welcomed his first little acorn into the world last week. That kid’ll be hewing before you can say, “Your turn, honey”.

Now I understand why Peter makes furniture.
Yeah, but us old men can still DO IT!! A friend asked Me the other day, why I still made forty foot wooden flagpoles by hand and raised them with a block and tackle, and climbed ladders at age 70. I could only reply…because I can! Keep on keepin’ on you young bucks! C.
You said “by gum”!!!!
